New iPad Protection?

The post New iPad Protection? appeared first on MoTech Radio.

You’ve been waiting for months. You saved up the necessary dollars, and it finally went on sale. Two days later you’re looking out the window every two minutes just waiting for the delivery truck. And then you hear it – the tell-tale signs of a slamming car door. A few footsteps, then a knock at the door. IT’S HERE. Your fingers tremble as you begin unwrapping the packaging to your brand new shiny silver iPad. Your hesitant fingers pick it up cautiously and you hold it out to take in the site. Just then, something scares the birds outside, causing your big black lab to charge across to the window, barking furiously. Unfortunately, he noticed neither your shiny iPad nor your legs standing in his way.

You can guess how this story ends.

Broken iPad

We’ve all been there. If you haven’t had a similar experience, you’ve certainly dreamed of one. And yet, always keeping your tablet in a bulky case makes it so much bigger and heavier, and takes away from the user experience. These problems are exactly what lead to the creation of the new tablet accessory, iCorners:

The idea, obviously, is to have the protection of a case minus the bulkiness. So far the reviews have been positive. But as one reporter points out, the biggest problem is that nowhere in their campaign have the creators of iCorners specified how far a fall your protected iPad will survive:

“It isn’t clear how much of a shock they can absorb when dropped and that is my biggest question about this product. It is one of those questions that most people learn the hard way.”

Perhaps this is why they still have such a long way to go with their Kickstarter campaign. That, or the poor grammar dominating the page. The project seems like a good idea, but I wouldn’t go buy it without more details.
