Is this the dawn of the end of smartphone wars? After years of struggling against each other, Apple and Google have agreed to lay down arms and attempt to work together on patent reforms:

And just like that, the longstanding legal battle between Apple and Motorola appears to be winding down. The two smartphone giants have reached an agreement that will see them drop patent lawsuits against each other. …



The two companies have not had a good relationship since Google purchased Motorola in 2011, but the problems started even earlier. Macrumors summarizes:



“The dispute between Apple and Motorola began in 2010, with both companies accusing each other of patent infringement. Google inherited the legal issues when it purchased Motorola Mobility in 2011. There are more than a dozen different lawsuits between the two companies in various jurisdictions around the world, and this agreement is said to settle all of them.”
